DeAngelo Casto Suspended For NIT Game, Reportedly Involved In Drug Investigation

Just hours after Washington State defeated Oklahoma State to advance in the NIT, forward DeAngelo Casto was reportedly caught up in a drug investigation at an apartment in Pullman. Though no citation has been issued as of now, Casto has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Ken Bone and will miss the Cougars' next NIT game, set to take place on Wednesday against Northwestern.

The Spokesman-Review's Vince Grippi reported the details, citing a source with knowledge of the situation.

A source with knowledge of the situation said Casto's off-campus apartment was searched by police at about 1:20 Tuesday morning and a small amount of marijuana was allegedly found.

Another source not authorized to speak publicly said a citation could be issued as early as Wednesday morning

If true, Casto becomes the third Washington State player to be caught up in a drug investigation this season. Washington State guard Klay Thompson was cited for possession of marijuana just weeks ago after a game. Guard Reggie Moore had his dorm room searched in December, receiving a citation for possession of marijuana, as well.

Washington State takes on Northwestern in the NIT on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Pullman. For more on Casto and the Cougs, check out CougCenter.
