Civil War 2011, Oregon Vs. Oregon State: LaMichael James Becomes Ducks All-Time Leading Scorer

The Oregon Ducks got their annual Civil War battle with the Oregon State Beavers off to a strong start, snagging an interception on the Beavers first drive and turning it into a 7-0 lead before three minutes had come off the game clock. Michael Clay intercepted a Sean Mannion pass, setting the Ducks up at the Oregon State 38. Two pass completions and four rushes later and the Ducks had the lead.

Oregon running back LaMichael James scored the touchdown on a one-yard plunge. The touchdown was James' 14th of the season. More importantly, he surpassed kicker Jared Siegel for first on the Ducks all-time scoring list. Kickers rank highly on these kinds of lists, so surpassing him is an excellent cap on what has been a stellar career for LaMichael James at Oregon. While he is unlikely to cap this season with the Heisman Trophy, his 2011 campaign is nothing to sneeze at.

Oregon will secure the Pac-12 North with a win over Oregon State, further solidifying their Rose Bowl chances. For more on the Ducks, check out Addicted To Quack.
