Oregon Ducks Football Recruiting: KeiVarae Russell Interested

The Oregon Ducks might not be done with landing big running backs for their 2012 recruiting class. Byron Marshall committed yesterday, and it looks like another another big West Coast tailback is interested in checking out Eugene. KeiVarae Russell had a top 5 of Cal, UW, Notre Dame, USC and Boise earlier this year, but it appears the Broncos have dropped out in favor of the Oregon Ducks, Greg Biggins of ESPN reports.

Russell's interest in Oregon might be slightly diminished now that Marshall has committed--it wouldn't make much sense for the two feature tailbacks to join up and play at the same school. In fact Russell's recent show of interest in being a Duck could have Marshall to commit a little earlier than he expected to ensure that he ended up going to the program of his choice. So Russell's interest might be a little bit more muted and Oregon might not stand out as prominently as it did before.

Based on this list of programs though, it looks as if Russell is likely sticking to the West Coast. It remains to be seen whether it'll end up being the northwest coast.
