Washington State Vs. Arizona State Score Update: Connor Halliday And Cougars Trail 27-23 In Fourth Quarter

The Washington State Cougars are continuing to give the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils fits. Led by rookie quarterback Connor Halliday, playing in his first game, the Cougars are giving the Sun Devils far more fight than they had bargained for. Entering the fourth quarter of play, the score is 27-23 in favor of the Sun Devils.

Through the first three quarters, the freshman quarterback is 20-for-27 for 337 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Marquess Wilson is also putting on quite a show, leading Washington State receivers with 169 yards on six catches and three touchdowns.

Things are more interesting and close than ASU expected. Halliday and Wilson are keeping the Washington State crowd engaged and red-hot.The Cougars came up with an enormous red zone stop of the Sun Devils, forcing a turnover on downs after two consecutive plays where a first down was within inches.

There's a full quarter left to play, and in the Pac-12 anything can happen. Still, the Cougars are getting a big boost from Halliday and hoping he can keep things close.
