Oregon vs. Washington State Score: Ducks Block Punt For Early 8-3 Lead

The Oregon Ducks have both Darron Thomas and LaMichael James back in their lineup today, but UO was unable to score an offensive touchdown in the first quarter against the Washington State Cougars. The Ducks currently lead 8-3 with 14 minutes remaining in the half

So how did they score? Just two minutes into the quarter, Oregon forced a WSU punt. Avery Patterson blocked the punt and Boseko Lokombo scooped the ball and took it 25 yards to the end zone. The Ducks then converted a two-point conversion to take an 8-0 lead.

Darron Thomas is 3-for-5 on the day with 57 passing yards, though he did throw an interception. LaMichael James has recorded eight yards on five carries thus far.

Washington State got on the scoreboard early in the second quarter with a 40-yard field goal from Andrew Furney. Quarterback Marshall Lobbestael has thrown for 88 yards on nine completions, though he threw an interception as well.

WSU has the ball and is driving once again after stopping Oregon. The defense has played very well for the Cougars.
