BCS Rankings, Week 9: Oregon Football Climbs To No. 7 As Top One-Loss Team

The Oregon Ducks are right back in the mix of things in the BCS race. The problem is they might have to run the table to return back to the Bowl Championship Series.

Oregon leapt up to the seventh spot and now stand only a spot behind the Stanford Cardinal, who at No. 6 are inching ever so closer to controlling their BCS title destiny. If Stanford can handle their last road trips of the season to USC and Oregon State and Oregon can handle the Washington schools in successive weeks, the two will be set for another epic tilt that could end up deciding who earns the BCS top spot from the Pac-12.

However, if Oregon loses to Stanford, that'll put them at two losses (to top quality teams like LSU and Stanford, but still) and almost assuredly out of the BCS at-large race. They probably must win out to have any shot at a BCS bowl, and would certainly be right there with the Alabama-LSU loser. Pac-12 championship or bust for the Ducks.
