The Washington St. Cougars and the Oregon St. Beavers both had impressive touchdown drives early in the first half of their matchup in Seattle. They have their quarterbacks to thank for most of that play.
After a Washington State drive on a failed 4th and 1 at the OSU 24, the Beavers marched back down the field. Beavers QB Sean Mannion found Markus Wheaton down the right sideline for 37 yards, then Mannion found Jordan Jenkins on a short pass to the left which Jenkins then streaked down the left side for 31 yards and an Oregon State 7-0 lead.
But Mannion gave one back on an interception to WSU defender Damante Horton, and Jeff Tuel struck back. Although he was pinned at his own one yard line, Tuel marched the Cougars 99 yards down the field, getting help from Carl Winston (27 all-purpose yards) and capping it off with a 20 yard throw to Marquess Wilson to tie things up early in the second quarter.
