Oregon Football Recruiting: Shaq Thompson Has Ducks In Top 3 With Washington Huskies, California Golden Bears

The Oregon Ducks have had some of the best secondaries in the last few years. They might end up attracting one of the greatest talents on the West Coast if they can keep the momentum going on the football field and the recruiting trail.

Shaquille 'Shaq' Thompson was long considered to be a heavy California Golden Bears lean early on (especially after he committed), then reopened his recruitment to probably see what other opportunities were out there. He has really liked the Washington Huskies after their first visit, going so far as to naming them his new favorites.

Now Shaq went to Oregon for the Arizona State game last week, and had some very positive things to say. Greg Biggins of ESPN has more on the story ($).

"Man, I loved it," Thompson said. "Those were the craziest fans I’ve ever been around and they were in to the game from start to finish. I would say the whole game day experience was the best part of the visit for me. Seeing ESPN GameDay and hanging out with the other players at the game, it was really a lot of fun. Terrence Mitchell, who’s a NorCal guy like me, was my host and he was real cool and I clicked well with all the guys on the team."

Oregon, Washington and Cal are all but co-favorites now. Notre Dame is next on the visit trail. Will Shaq add another co-favorite to the list?
