You want to get a Washington Huskies football fan riled up? Watch them lose a recruit. You want to see them go apoplectic and totally lose their bearings and sense of being? Watch them lose a recruit to the Oregon Ducks.
That's exactly the horror that unfolded Monday morning, when defensive end Jeremy Castro reneged on his verbal to UW and went back to the school he originally wanted to be a part of down in Eugene. The Murrieta, California defensive end made his commitment today, and he figures to be another one of the many players that'll fit perfectly into Nick Aliotti's attacking scheme.
In all honesty though, this isn't the most surprising switch. Castro had been favoring Oregon before he decided to go for the purple and gold. Apparently his fears about potential trouble with the Oregon football program ($) have been assuaged and he feels like he can make an impact with the team he wanted to be with the most ($).
"I’m a Duck," Castro, who was thought to be an Oregon lean before making his commitment to Washington, said. "Oregon just felt right and truthfully it’s the school I’ve always wanted to go to."
