The Seattle Seahawks are in the playoffs, but the road doesn't get any easier for the NFC West winners. This coming weekend, the playoffs kick off, with the wildcard games taking place on Saturday on Sunday. The Seahawks open the NFL playoffs against the New Orleans Saints at Qwest Field on Saturday and were expected to be overwhelming underdogs against the defending Super Bowl champions. Naturally, the Seahawks are.
In the opening lines released ahead of the first round matchups, the Seahawks are a whopping 10.5 point underdog to the Saints. Here's the full round of odds for the NFL Playoffs.
Seahawks vs. Saints (-10.5)
New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts (-3)
Baltimore Ravens (-3) vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-2.5)
As you can see, two home teams are not favored in the wildcard matchups and the Seahawks come in as the biggest underdog, lapping the field by a touchdown. The Ravens are the other road team favored.
Of course, none of this matters when teams hit the field to begin the NFL Playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 8. The Seahawks and Saints get the playoffs started, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on NBC.
