Halftime: Sounders 0-0 Revs

Seattle Sounders fans have had a bit more to worry about in this match than they have in previous games. In the last two games, the Sounders have controlled much of the possession, with little real threat from the opposition.

But the New England Revolution have been a fairly threatening presence around the goal in the first half of the match, with Kasey Keller making a few impressive saves. The Seattle Sounders defense looks frail tonight. It’s the standard starting XI for the team, but one wonders if they’re not a bit tired after Wednesday night, although neither Jeff Parke or Patrick Ianni were on the field that night. I hope that a good pep talk from Sigi Schmid will inspire a tightening along the back four.

Going forward, the Sounders have had a few shots on goal as well, but Revs keeper Matt Reis has made no mistakes. Mike Seamon looks eager to get a ball in the back of the net, having had a couple shots on target in the first half. The game hasn’t been totally terrifying, but it’s certainly not a comfortable experience for the Sounder fan.
