Match Day: Seattle Sounders At Monterrey in CONCACAF Champions League

After a weekend of firsts for the Seattle Sounders, including the team's first hat-trick and first converted penalty, the squad is in Monterrey hoping for one more first: becoming the first U.S. team to win a competitive match in Mexico.

Let's be frank. Nothing short of a miracle is going to push the Sounders through to the next round of CONCACAF Champions League. And it may just take that miracle to produce a win in Mexico tonight. But there's something relieving about supporting a team when the result barely matters. Sounders supporters are told to expect little tonight-so let's just sit back and relax, cheering on the Rave Green , but without the pressure of what a win or a loss might mean to the team.

So enjoy, Sounders fans. This one matters little. If it's the bench playing, look for the positives in the reserves. If it's our starters, see how they handle the superior competition that the team hopes to face again next season. But no matter who plays, revel in the fact that we get to enjoy Wednesday night soccer. After all, only four MLS teams earned such a privilege.

Kickoff is at 5pm PT and the match will be shown on FSC.
