Keeping track of the roster was pretty simple under Tim Ruskell. Players he acquired were kept as Mike Holmgren era players were shuffled off. Camp bodies left with camp, and the final 53 reflected starters and recent draft picks.
John Schneider has shuffled through talent at a record pace. Many of these moves will have little impact on the final 53, but it does keep us all busy, now doesn’t it?
Of the moves listed above, one is far and away the most important, and that is the release of fullback Ryan Powdrell. That leaves Owen Schmitt as the lone designated fullback on the Seahawks roster. That won’t stick, but it is tacit approval of Schmitt’s progress.
