LenDale White Signs With Broncos

LenDale White is a minor villain in Seahawks lore, but a recent one. The Broncos are a storied rival but passing. One minor news story intersected with a increasingly irrelevant rival when the Broncos signed White today.

White will fill in temporarily for injured backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter. Then he will serve a four-game suspension.

The upshot is that Denver has reportedly waived Kolby Smith to make room for Buckhalter. Smith is a big back that fits Seattle’s zone blocking scheme. He didn’t sign with Denver until long after Seahawks offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates had left the Broncos, but Bates does know Smith as an opponent.

Something to watch for. Seattle has been extremely aggressive signing and cutting players.
