Hopes rose in the 10th with Marmol pitching for Chicago, when the Mariners pulled off a double steal with one out and Franklin Gutierrez at the plate. Unfortunately for fans all to familiar with this scenario, Seattle was unable to bring in a run after loading the bases. Instead the game dragged on into the thirteenth, when Sean White gave up two walks and then allowed an RBI single to Marlon Byrd.
The Mariners now head for Milwaukee to face the Brewers, hoping to start another winning streak after this one ended at six straight.
