The Oregon Ducks are just minutes away from a trip to Glendale for the BCS National Championship. The Ducks are controlling the Oregon State Beavers halfway through the fourth quarter, 37-13. It's death by ground for the Ducks again this week, as LaMichael James and Kenjon Barner have combined to run-over the Beavers in Corvallis. Combined, the pair of explosive backs have 160 yards and two touchdowns.
The Beavers struck first, when Ryan Katz connected with Jacquizz Rodgers for six yards and the score. The Ducks battled back, with Darron Thomas hitting Kenjon Barner for three yards and the score. A Rob Beard field goal and LaMichael James touchdown run sent the Ducks into the half up 16-7.
The Ducks haven't looked back, controlling the game and keeping the Beavers at bay. Thomas has passed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, supplementing the powerful run game when necessary. Jeff Maehl leads the Oregon receivers with 86 yards on seven catches, with D.J. Davis adding a touchdown.
It's all but over in Corvallis, with the Ducks cruising late in the fourth. With the win, Oregon is assured a spot in the BCS Championship, likely against the Auburn Tigers.
