Fantasy Football Rankings: Seahawks-Giants Projections

It's Wednesday, so it's time to start figuring out who to start, sit or pickup at the last minute in fantasy football.  The Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants square off at Qwest Field on Sunday and we've got rankings and projections compiled from ESPN and Yahoo! to make the decisions easier. With the Seahawks offense still at a standstill, it may be a good idea to stay away from any Seahawks. On the other hand, Eli Manning and the Giants come to town against a Seattle defense that's banged up and battered, especially up front.

Manning is a must start this weekend and is projected to put up 288 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Seahawks defense, good for 15 points and top-10 quarterback status. In the run game, Ahmad Bradshaw looks like a solid start, projected to score 17 points, good for top-5 running back status. Brandon Jacobs, his handcuff, doesn't fare so well, only projected to add four points on the day.

Who will Manning be throwing to? The Giants have a bevy of talented receivers, but this week Hakeem Nicks is expected to be the target. ESPN thinks Nicks is good for 80+ yards and a touchdown, or 14 fantasy points. Steve Smith checks in just behind Nicks with 70+ yards and a touchdown, good for 13 points. Mario Manningham gets left out in the cold with only 50 yards. Giants tight end Kevin Boss looks to have a slow week in store, with only 30 yards projected by ESPN.

On the Seahawks side, it's not looking good. Matt Hasselbeck, a shaky fantasy play at best, is only forecast to score seven points on 141 yards 1 touchdown and an interception. Mike Williams is the only Seattle receiver worth a play, expected to tally 12 points. Marshawn Lynch isn't worth a look behind a line that struggles to block, only projected to add three points to the mix. The only player worth a solid start for Seattle is kicker Olindo Mare. Mare is projected to be the highest-scoring kicker this week with 13 points. At least we got that going for us.
