The Oregon Ducks are in a dogfight against the Arizona Wildcats at Autzen Stadium. Through one half of play, the Ducks trail the Wildcats, 19-14. Arizona came out throwing haymakers, scoring first on a 16 play, 60 yard touchdown drive that spanned nearly half the first quarter. The Ducks answered, as they have all season, with a quick strike to level the score. Darron Thomas hit tight end David Paulson to cap a four play, 58 yard drive with a 38 yard touchdown.
Arizona, however, will not go away. The Wildcats answered the bell again with a quick strike of their own on the ensuing possession. Nick Foles found Juron Criner for 85 yards on the first play of the drive to take retake the lead. Again it was Oregon forced to answer -- and they did just that. Thomas hit Jeff Maehl in the back of the end zone to level the score once again. An Oregon safety, after a long snap sailed over the head of Alejandro Maldonado and a field goal just before the half gave Arizona the 19-14 lead heading into the half.
To make matters worse for Oregon, LaMichael James was injured after take a huge hit to the head in the second quarter. James was shaken up on the play and has not returned. It appeared the star running back may have had a concussion, as trainers were checking him on the sidelines.
Heading into the second half, the Ducks need a comeback, trailing 19-14.
