The Huskies are heavily favored over a struggling Cougars squad that is winless in Pac 12 play and is mired in an eight-game losing streak.
The No. 25 Washington Huskies have opened as 10.5-point favorites against the Washington St. Cougars in the 2012 Apple Cup scheduled for Friday, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
The Huskies (7-4, 5-3 Pac 12) have been playing very well of late, winning of four straight games since getting blown out by the Arizona Wildcats, 52-17, on Oct. 20. In those four wins, Washington has outscored their opponents 113-48. The Huskies have also covered the spread in all four of those victories.
Washington St. (2-9, 0-8 Pac 12) are on the opposite end of the spectrum. The Cougars have lost eight consecutive games, are winless since Sept. 22 and are coming off a brutal 46-7 loss to the Arizona St. Sun Devils last Sunday in Tempe.
Kickoff for the Apple Cup is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT at Martin Stadium on Friday and the game will be televised on FOX.
