Huskies quarterback Keith Price: 'I haven't lost any confidence at all'

Despite recent struggles, Washington quarterback Keith Price said he is still confident and working hard.

Washington Huskies quarterback Keith Price said he has not lost any confidence, despite recent struggles.

After an impressive sophomore season, many college football analysts and fans were expecting Price to have an even better junior season this year. It hasn't happened thus far, as Price has thrown for less than 200 yards in five of six games this season. He's also struggled with turnovers, throwing four interceptions and losing three fumbles over the last two games. Despite those issues, Price is working hard and staying confident.

"I haven't lost any confidence. I'm still running around here and I'm still preparing better than I ever have," Price said, according to the Seattle Times. "I know that hard work is going to pay off and I know it's going to pay off all the stuff I did over the summer and all the stuff I'm doing right now. I know it's going to pay off.''

Price said he's been going through ball-security drills this week in an effort to better protect the ball going forward. He said teammates, including former Husky running back Chris Polk, have told him to stay with it and keep grinding away. Price doesn't expect to be down for long, saying the Huskies plan on scoring "a lot of points" against Arizona on Saturday.

After throwing for 3,063 yards in 13 games last season, Price has thrown for 1,080 yards in the first six games of this season.
