The Huskies will end their non-conference schedule with a long road trip to take on their East Coast counterparts.
The Washington Huskies will travel to Hartford, Conn., to take on the UConn Huskies in UW's last non-conference game of the season on Saturday, Dec. 29.
The player to watch for the West Coast Huskies will be Shawn Kemp Jr. The sophomore missed the team's last trip to Connecticut during the Mohegan Sun tournament. This time around, they'll enjoy his ability to take up space inside with his 6'9 frame. He's averaging 4.0 points per game this season in 13.4 minutes, and could see an increased role.
The last game against UConn resulted in a 98-92 loss in the 2005-2006 NCAA Tournament. In that game, Brandon Roy had 20 points for Washington.
The Huskies will look to get on track as they prepare to face Washington State on Jan. 5 to open up conference play on the road. UW will try to improve upon their 2-12 record in the Eastern time zone since head coach Lorenzo Romar took over.
