The Washington Huskies have been thinking a long time about trying to get revenge for a particular contest. They're tired of dwelling on this contest and are just looking to move on and get through this.
I'm talking of course of the 1964 Rose Bowl, where Washington was mercilessly slaughtered by Illinois. A grudge match is in order! The rematch is scheduled for September 14th.
For those of you who forgot the 1964 Rose Bowl, Washington fell 17-7 to an Illini team led by Dick Butkus and Jim Grabowski. Junior Coffey just couldn't lead Washington over the top. The teams also played their last matchup on the field in 1972.
The Washington Huskies have a formidable non-conference schedule now, as they also have to face Boise State next season as well along with Idaho State.
Talk about the game with Washington football fans by heading on over to UW Dawg Pound.
