ESPN's Chad Ford released his Mock Draft 8.0 on Tuesday and both Washington guards Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten landed in the first round with the Phoenix Suns taking Ross with the no. 13 pick and the Memphis Grizzlies taking Wroten at no. 25.
Here's what Ford had to say about Ross heading to the Suns:
He's big, he's super athletic and he can really shoot the basketball. The Suns desperately need help in their backcourt, and Ross could be a very solid addition.
The Grizzlies don't have a ton of talent behind Mike Conley, and Wroten is definitely worth the risk at this point in the draft. He is the most spectacular passer in the draft and has great size and athleticism. He just needs to fix that broken shot of his.
The difference in jump shooting ability always seems to be what separates Ross from Wroten. If Wroten ever figured it out, he could turn into a star. But Ross is more polished at this moment and could step into the right situation and contribute right away. But both players seem to be securely in the first round.
