Washington assistant coach Tosh Lupoi commits secondary violation, school self-reports the infraction.

One of the biggest coaching moves made this offseason was when Steve Sarkisian and the University of Washington were able to lure mega-recruiter Tosh Lupoi away from the Cal Bears football program to Montlake.

Now, due to an inquiry by the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, UW released information that it had limited Tosh Lupoi during the recent spring evaluation period after it had self-reported a secondary NCAA violation by the assistant coach.

CBSSports' Bruce Feldman had this story.

According to information released by the school to CBS the details of the violation are as follows:

Washington assistant coach Tosh Lupoi was taken off the road and "limited" during the spring evaluation period resulting from a self-reported, secondary violation, the school confirmed to CBS Thursday morning.

According to the school, the secondary violation occurred when Lupoi, widely considered one of the best recruiters in college football, publicized the visit of a prospective student-athlete who ultimately did not commit to UW by confirming information about the recruit to members of the Dawg Pack student section at a men's basketball game.

Lupoi is widely regarded as one of the premier recruiters in all of college football and is a former Rivals.com National Recruiter of the Year.
