The Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks missed out on the NCAA Tournament but they will have another shot. at a postseason tournament. The NIT selections will be announced on Sunday.
The Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks men's basketball teams missed out on berths in the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. But both teams are likely to get a shot at a postseason tournament after all, as both are projected to be selected to the 2012 NIT Tournament.
The Huskies are projected as a No. 1 seed selection in the tournament, along with the Seton Hall Pirates, Miami Hurricanes and Arizona Wildcats.
The Ducks are thought to be a No. 3 NIT seed, along with the Mississippi Rebels, Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and Marshall Thundering Herd.
Selections for the NIT will be announced at 6:00 p.m. PT on Sunday. For more info on the tournament projections, check out NIT-ology.
