Washington Huskies back-up quarterback Nick Montana, son of famed NFL quarterback Joe Montana, has decided to transfer, likely to a junior college, according to multiple reports.
King 5 in Seattle is confirming that sources close to the program say Montana is leaving while Q13's Aaron Levine reports that Montana will be headed to a junior college in Texas.
Blinn Junior College was mentioned as a possible destination by one source. Blinn is best known as the school where Cam Newton played before transferring to Auburn.
The redshirt freshman appeared in six games for the Huskies in 2011. When Keith Price emerged as the starter this season and cemented his spot in the Alamo Bowl, Montana may be looking for playing time elsewhere.
Transferring isn't new to the Montana family. Older brother Nate transfered twice between Notre Dame, Pasadena City College and Montana.
Montana came to UW from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village,CA.
