NCAA Bracket Update, Scores: Ohio State Rolls Over Texas-San Antonio, 75-46

No. 1 seed Ohio State had no problems in its first game of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, cruising to a 75-46 win over Texas-San Antonio on Friday afternoon. The Buckeyes were in control throughout, jumping out to a 16-point halftime lead and widening the gap in the second.

Ohio State dominated every facet of the game, shooting 56.9 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the arc and assisting on 26 of 29 made baskets. That last stat is impressive no matter who the opponent is and a sign of the ball movement on display in the game.

William Buford had an outstanding game for Ohio State, scoring a team-high 18 points. Jared Sullinger just missed a double-double, finishing with 11 points and eight assists. Devin Gibson scored a game-high 24 points for UTSA in the loss.

Here’s how the East region of the bracket stands after Ohio State’s win. The Buckeyes will face George Mason, dramatic winners in the morning session, on Sunday with a spot in the Sweet Sixteen on the line.
