Stephan Nembot Picks Colorado Over Washington In Signing Day Ceremony

The Stephan Nembot recruiting adventure came to a close on Wednesday night in Los Angeles as Nembot chose to sign with the Colorado Buffaloes. His decision brings one of the weirdest recruiting tales I’ve seen in some time to a close after three separate decisions and multiple changes of direction throughout the process. At one time or another, Nembot had been committed to Washington State and Washington before settling on after visiting Colorado last weekend. With the passing of a white hat and the Colorado mascot displayed on the television behind him, Nembot finally revealed his decision on CBS Los Angeles.

Coaches were after Nembot hard after realizing the immense potential he could have on the offensive or defensive line. Though he only took football up in the last year, Nembot has the size and athleticism that makes him an excellent high-major prospect. He may be a bit of a project, but if he pans out, will reap the benefits down the road.

Nembot rounds out a strong day for the Buffaloes, who assembled a solid recruiting class ahead of their first year in the Pac-12. Colorado stole two Washington recruits down the home-stretch, locking up former UW commit Paulay Asiata early on Wednesday morning, as well. Asiata and Nembot both visited Boulder this past weekend and, apparently, enjoyed their stay at Colorado. Not a bad way to way make an entrance into the Pac-12 at all.
