Alamo Bowl 2011: Baylor Fans Have Caught Alamo Fever

Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Huskies are getting ready to face off against the Baylor Bears in this year's Alamo Bowl on December 29. According to Joshua Skurnik of KCENTV, the Baylor fans have caught BCS fever in the wake of their 2011 team and newly-minted Heisman quarterback.

Baylor fans are snatching up any Alamo Bowl merchandise they can get their hands on. Skurnik attributes this passion to the fact that 2011 marks the first time in almost 20 years that the Bears have visited back-to-back bowl games. The hype also has a great deal to do with Robert Griffin III, who was recently named this year's Heisman Trophy winner. The Baylor faithful certainly have a lot to be proud of in 2011.

Washington fans, for their part, will be hoping to stun those Baylor throngs and pick up their own bragging rights. Namely, besting the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and his team.
