Jacoby Brissett Reportedly Eliminates Washington, Down To Miami, Wisconsin And Florida

Four-star quarterback recruit Jacoby Brissett could’ve been the icing on the cake for Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian, but it wasn’t to be. Brissett has reportedly narrowed his list with just two days to go until signing day, eliminating Washington. The ninth-ranked quarterback in the class of 2011 will reportedly choose between the Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators and Wisconsin Badgers.

Scout.com recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman passed the news along this morning in a live-chat. As Seattle Times reporter Bob Condotta said, Brissett eliminating Washington is far from the end of the world for the Huskies, who already have an outstanding recruiting class.

But it was always regarded as a long shot, and the Huskies also had already secured one QB for this class in Derrick Brown of Murrieta, Calif. Brissett could have been icing on the cake - and the Huskies would like to improve depth at QB. But this isn’t a fatal blow, and always worth remembering that everybody loses lots of recruiting battles.

The Huskies made a late run at Brissett securing a visit from the highly sought-after recruit on Jan. 23. Washington appeared to make some headway, but it’s looking more like his home-state will win out, with Miami and Florida sitting high on his list.
