Tony Wroten Recruiting Update: New Top 5, Is Kentucky Out Of It?

Scout.com recruiting analyst Chris Fetter revealed Tony Wroten's top five schools today ahead of Wroten's commitment announcement on October 7th. The list includes a few surprises, with a local school making a late push and a national power falling out of the mix.

#ToneTone13 has a final five - Louisville, Washington, Villanova, Connecticut and Seattle University. SU? "They've come on the last month."less than a minute ago via web

Noticeably absent from the list is the Kentucky Wildcats. John Calipari and the Cats have been high on Wroten's list, making the omission even more surprising. For Kentucky fans that have been drooling over the thought of adding Wroten to their already top-flight class, this is a disappointing development.

Wroten visited Louisville last weekend and enjoyed hanging out with Peyton Siva and meeting head coach Rick Pitino. If there's a team that could lure him away from the Northwest, it's the Cardinals.

The addition of Seattle University came our of nowhere today, as well. Cameron Dollar has always been a great recruiter and it appears he put on the full-court press in the last month, swaying Wroten to drop Kentucky and take a serious look at SU.

With good friend Hikeem Stewart's commitment to Lorenzo Romar and the hometown Washington Huskies, could Wroten decide to stay home and join him? Stewart's been working Wroten hard and Romar has been recruiting the Garfield star for years.

With the way Wroten's recruitment has played out so far, anything can happen between now and next Thursday. One thing is clear: Whoever lands Wroten will get one heck of a player.
