Big Crowd Expected At Husky Stadium For Stanford Game

The Washington Huskies are expecting a big crowd at Husky Stadium this Saturday, topping out somewhere around 68,000 fans depending on last-minute ticket sales. Attendance is up, if only slightly, for the Huskies this year, helped by a capacity crowd when the Nebraska Cornhuskers came to town in September. With an average of over 68,000 fans this year, UW should easily top the 2008 and 2009 figures.

The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta checked-in on ticket sales and look at the attendance figures compared to past years on his blog.

UW officials said today that 67,400 tickets have been distributed, with an additional 800 high school cheerleaders on the track for the halftime show.

That total includes about 6,500 tickets given to local grade school students as part of a special promotion for this game.

Condotta notes that crowds for Washington’s final home game, Nov. 18 against the UCLA Bruins, aren’t expected to reach the same level as this weekend’s game. All told, it’s been a pretty successful year for ticket sales in Montlake.
