Washington Misses Cut In Jabari Parker's Top Ten Schools

Stay connected for news and updates

Jabari Parker will not be suiting up in the purple and gold anytime soon. Parker announced his top ten schools on Twitter on Wednesday night in no particular order: BYU, DePaul, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and Stanford.

While Washington was considered a longshot for the No. 1 basketball recruit in the land, there was some hope for Husky fans, considering Parker had a couple of family ties to the Washington Huskies basketball program. Parker's dad Sonny played in the NBA with Lorenzo Romar and Parker's brother, Chris, was an unofficial member of the Huskies' coaching staff last season.

Though Parker is now off the rader, Romar and his coaching staff still have a chance to pull off an impressive recruiting job with the class of 2013. They are considered the front-runner for five-star power forward Aaron Gordon and they are also one of the top schools on the list for five-star shooting guard Jabari Bird. The Huskies also gained a verbal commitment from point guard Nigel Williams-Goss in May.
