Jabari Bird (2013) told Rivals.com's Eric Bossi that Washington and California are his top two favorite schools with Arizona, Oregon and California rounding out his top five. The 6'6" shooting guard prospect missed the cut from the USA's U18 National Team roster on Thursday. He was one of the only two players from the West Coast invited to try out for the team earlier this week.

Bird is the No. 4 ranked shooting guard in his class and the No. 2 best player in his class from California according to ESPN's rankings. The five-star prospect led Salesian HS to a state championship and averaged 18.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game his junior year. Salesian HS is the same school current Washington Husky forward Desmond Simmons attended.

Washington's up-tempo style of play and coaching staff have played a role in Bird's feelings towards the school:

I like both (UW and Cal) of their respective styles of play and I love their coaching staffs. (Via: Rivals.com)
