Bruins Vs. Canucks Score, Game 4: Rich Peverley Gives Boston Early Lead

The Vancouver Canucks have put Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas under fire, but just like the rest of the series, the strong net-minder has been outstanding through the first period of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Canucks had two power plays in the first 20 minutes, but were unable to take advantage, and the Bruins made them pay for the missed opportunity with a goal of their own. Thanks to Rich Peverley's goal midway through the period, the Bruins lead the Canucks in Game 4, 1-0.

Thomas has been outstanding as always, and has 12 saves through the first period. Boston only had six shots in the period, but Roberto Luongo couldn't keep a clean sheet as Peverley got through on the breakaway and beat the Canucks' goalie to give Boston the early lead. The Bruins are riding high after a blowout win in Game 3, 8-1.

David Krejci and Zdeno Chara were each credited with an assist on Peverley's goal as he sprung free with only Luongo to beat in the first. Luongo couldn't make the stop, Boston took the lead and the Bruins had a sudden air of confidence about them. Down 2-1 in the series, Boston needs this win to even the series after falling into a 2-0 hole in Vancouver.
