The Seattle Sounders will get a major lift on Thursday, when forward Eddie Johnson suits up for the team. Johnson returned to training this week after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The game against. Salt Lake will be the Sounders' opportunity to end its playoff drought and advance to the Western Conference Semifinals. When speaking to the Seattle Times, Johnson was candid about his approach.
"I've come too far to not be a a part of this special thing we've got going on as a team," he said. He went on to talk about the adversity they've faced, and how it's all come together for them to have a shot at postseason glory. His injury has been a major concern for the team.
Seattle had a number of chances on Friday in Salt Lake, where they converted nine passes within the penalty box, seven of them coming from the outside of the box. Despite the game ending in a 0-0 tie, there was plenty to build on, given the Sounders' improved attack.
