2012 MLS Standings: 5 Game Unbeaten Streak Has Sounders In 3rd Place

The Seattle Sounders Football Club sits in third place as of Monday, their 19 points only three behind the two teams ahead of them in the standings. Only the San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake are ahead of the Sounders in the standings. The Sounders face FC Dallas next, but the game after that is a direct chance to move up in the standings as they take on Real Salt Lake.

The full standings for the Western Conference of Major League Soccer are:

1) San Jose Earthquakes - 22 points

2) Real Salt Lake - 22 points

3) Seattle Sounders FC - 19 points

4) Vancouver Whitecaps FC - 17 points

5) Colorado Rapids - 12 points

6) FC Dallas - 12 points

7) LA Galaxy - 10 points

8) Chivas USA - 9 points

9) Portland Timbers - 8 points

The Sounders are unbeaten in their previous five games, having tied DC United and beat the Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire, LA Galaxy, and Philadelphia Union. They'll look to continue that streak when they visit FC Dallas on Wednesday.
