Former Seattle Seahawk linebacker Lofa Tatupu has again torn a pectoral muscle and will miss the 2012 NFL season, per reports on Tuesday.
Tatupu was asked to take a pay cut prior to last season, declined, and was subsequently released by the Seahawks after spending six seasons with the team, going to the Pro Bowl three times and being named an All-Pro in 2007. He didn't receive a ton of interest in free agency last season because of lingering knee injuries, so he rehabbed and got healthy while sitting the year out.
Lofa was signed recently by the Atlanta Falcons and had entered their offseason programs competing with Akeem Dent to start at middle linebacker, but this obviously derails what appeared to be a nice comeback attempt by the Seahawks' fan favorite.
