The former Washington Huskies running back will have to prove his worth to the Eagles organization after not being picked in this past weekend's draft.
Polk was considered to be a third or fourth round pick by many draft experts, but his stock went down due to an apparent degenerative shoulder injury. Steve Sarkisian, Polk's former head coach at Washington was caught off guard by the injury news.
Sark on Chris Polk: "I just assumed it would happen(drafted). Some of the reports that came out are news to me. I've never heard that stuff"— Dave Softy Mahler (@Softykjr) April 28, 2012
The Eagles also drafted running back Bryce Brown out of Kansas State in the seventh round. Brown and Polk will presumably be fighting for a roster spot during training camp.
