A bit more on what is being said about the Seahawks 2nd round pick Bobby Wagner.

The Seattle Seahawks did a little swapping with the New York Jets, trading second round picks and also getting picks number 154 and 232 for the final day of the draft. After picking a defensive player in Bruce Irvin in the first round, the Seahawks went the defensive route again taking Bobby Wagner, a 232-pound outside linebacker from Utah State.

Seeing as how the Seahawks finer suit last year was stopping the run, it was a curious move Sports Illustrated said.

The Seahawks, like the Eagles, have also gone DL, ILB with their first two picks. The problem for Seattle? They have much greater needs everywhere else. The team's strongest card last year was its defensive front and great run defense.

Wagner didn't exactly impress at the scouts combine - mainly because he didn't attend. He ended up coming down with an impressive case of pneumonia the week he was supposed to leave. He claims he has run a 40 yard dash at 4.47 seconds, which would have tied him for the quickest linebacker at the combines with Cal's Mychal Hendricks, who Philadelphia drafted one pick before Seattle. That speed looks to be the reason the Seahawks brass picked him up.

"The kid can run like the wind," said Eric Stokes, the Seahawks' assistant director of college scouting to 710 ESPN.
