Stay connected for news and updates

In NFL.com latest mock draft, put together by Charles Davis, the Seattle Seahawks select Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe with the No. 12 pick in the 2012 draft. The Seahawks have picked a number of different players in different mock drafts as they can use some help at a lot of different positions. However, Poe would give the Seahawks a solid force at nose tackle for seasons to come. As for Davis' explanation on the pick, he only had this to say: "Potential over production in college, as Pete Carroll often gets the production to emerge."

Poe is ranked by many as this draft class' top defensive lineman. He's a 6-foot-3, 346-pound run stopping boulder of a defensive tackle, but he also proved with a quick 40 time and an impressive combine workout that he has the athleticism to rush the passer by overpowering linemen from the defensive tackle position. He's the kind of guy that the Seahawks could build a defensive front seven around.
