Carroll has turned around the culture of the Seahawks and has built one of the best defenses in the league.

AOL Sporting News released a midseason players' poll of the most underrated head coach in the NFL and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll nabbed six votes and placed fifth on the list behind the Houston Texans' Gary Kubiak, Atlanta Falcons' Mike Smith, New York Giants' Tom Coughlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin.

Carroll's record so far in Seattle isn't the greatest at 19-22 but he has completely overhauled the roster, turning it into the 5-4 team it is now with a playoff push on its mind.

The Seahawks were once one of the worst defenses in the league but due to crafty moves in free agency and spending a mass majority of their recent draft picks on defensive players like rookie Bruce Irvin, the Seahawks have turned into a top 10 defense that has looked like the best defense in the league at times.

On the flipside, the New York Jets' Rex Ryan was voted the most overrated head coach in the league.
