Seahawks injury report: Doug Baldwin, Braylon Edwards still in 'wait-and-see' mode

The questions surrounding the injuries of Doug Baldwin and Braylon Edwards mean that Seattle Seahawks rookie receiver Jermaine Kearse will see playing time.

The statuses of Seattle Seahawks receivers Doug Baldwin and Braylon Edwards are up in the air for the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Head coach Pete Carroll told the Seattle Times that both are in a "wait and see" mode.

"We have to wait and see on Braylon," coach Pete Carroll said. "We have to wait and see if Doug can make it back, and the rest of the guys are ready to go, and of course, (Jermaine) Kearse is jacked up about the opportunity."

Baldwin suffered a high-ankle sprain while on special teams duties on Oct. 18, and he missed last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. The second-year pro was putting on pads during Wednesday's practice, and Carroll told the Seattle Times that his recovery has been better than expected. Baldwin has 11 receptions for 149 yards on the year.

Edwards also missed the Lions game with swelling in his knee. Edwards has eight catches for 74 yards this season.

Rookie Jermaine Kearse out of Washington was promoted to the full 53-man roster this week and is likely to see time. The 22-year-old had his most prolific year with the Huskies as a junior, when he caught 69 passes for 1,005 total yards and 12 touchdowns.
