Holmgren coached the Seattle Seahawks from 1999 to 2008 before joining the Cleveland Browns organization.

According to ESPN, former Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren is leaving the Cleveland Browns organization but there are conflicting reports as to why and when.

According to ESPN's Ed Werder, new Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam will name Joe Banner the team's CEO/president and Holmgren will leave his current position as president. But ESPN's Adam Schefter says that Holmgren will retire at the end of the season but will finish out the 2012 season with the Browns.

A Haslam press conference has been scheduled for this afternoon to announce Banner's new position but whether or not the topic of Holmgren's status coming up is unknown.

Holmgren has been with the Browns since Jan. 5, 2010.

Holmgren left a lasting impression on the Seahawks organization during his tenure with the team. He went 72-56 and won four consecutive NFC West division titles, an NFC championship and took the Seahawks to their first-ever Super Bowl berth in 2006. He's an adored figure in the Pacific Northwest to this day so people in the area will be keeping an eye on these developments.
