NFL Undrafted Free Agents To Begin Signing Contracts On Monday Night

Transactions should begin rolling in on Monday night as the NFL allowed teams to start contacting and signing undrafted free agents a day earlier than expected. Originally, the plan was to allow teams to begin signing undrafted rookies on Tuesday, along with the beginning of free agency and the opening of the trade window. But in an effort to get things jump-started, undrafted free agents who have been waiting in limbo will have some clarity in the late hours of Monday evening.

The news comes from John Clayton via Adam Schefter and marks the opening of the offseason. Finally.

John Clayton reports that NFL teams were granted the right to sign undrafted players Monday night. So dealings are underway.

The Seahawks are expected to be big players when it comes to undrafted rookies. Seattle has a clear need at quarterback, and the crop of undrafted rookies includes a few intriguing players. Pat Devlin, Josh Portis and others have all been mentioned as possible Seattle signings, along with a bevy of other position players.
