NFL Combine Results: Anthony Castonzo, Jason Kelce, Nate Solder Top Lineman Workouts

While the tight ends were busy blazing up and down the field during Saturday’s first set of workouts, the offensive linemen received plenty of attention, as well. The linemen, though not burners by any means, showed off some legitimate athleticism and quickness running through the 40-yard dash, three-cone drill and other agility tests. Scouts were keeping a close eye on Anthony Castonzo, projected to be one of the top linemen off the board. He impressed, along with Nate Solder, Justin Kelce and others.

Ryan Bartholomew displayed strength early in the drills, benching 34 reps at 225 pounds, the most of any lineman. Bartholomew also showed off his straight-line speed, running the second fastest 40-yard dash, clocking in at 4.97 seconds, one of only two linemen under the five-second mark.

On the lighter side of things, Wisconsin’s John Moffitt entertained during the drills, but not for his workout performance. Check out the video of Moffitt getting caught in an embarrassing spot during the 40-yard dash demonstration.

Here’s a few of the top performers from the linemen groups.

40-yard dash
Kelce 4.93
Bartholomew 4.97
Derek Newton 5.01
Solder 5.03

Brandon Fusco 7.29

With the kickers, linemen and tight ends out of the way, the “money day,” as it’s called, is set for Sunday. Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers hit the field on Sunday morning with a chance to impress the scouts in attendance. Keep an eye out for blazing 40 times, superb displays of athleticism and players that may not have been noticed rising with surprising workouts.
