Seahawks Vs Rams: Seattle Announces Starting Offensive Line For This Week

Hit with some major injuries in the past few weeks, the Seahawks announced some changes to their starting offensive line unit.

With the Seahawks' offensive line down to two of its original starters from the beginning of the year, many fans were wondering how the team might shuffle the unit. Starting Right tackle James Carpenter, right guard John Moffitt, and most recently, left tackle Russell Okung have been placed on injured reserve and has left the coaching staff scrambling to decide how to best utilize their remaining players.

Well, they've come up with a plan, to start with anyway.

The Seahawks are moving guard Paul McQuistan, who has played both left and right guard this season, to the ever-important and difficult left tackle position. Pete Carroll noted that McQuistan has experience there and that should help ease the transition.

The Seahawks also signed journeyman guard/center Mike Gibson to their active roster to add depth in the middle, as backup center Lemuel Jeanpierre will now be starting at right guard. Gibson was with the team last season, starting 8 games and taking part in the fabled Beast Quake run by Marshawn Lynch that beat the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs.
