Seahawks Vs. 49ers Score Update: Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks trail 13-10 After Third Quarter

The Seattle Seahawks took a 10-3 lead into halftime against the visiting San Francisco 49ers in Week 16. Since the teams have returned to the field in the third quarter, however, there has been a definite swing in momentum. Entering the final quarter, the Seahawks are trailing by a score of 13-10.

The Niners opened the third quarter with a long drive ending in a Frank Gore touchdown run. The Seahawks then went three-and-out before the San Francisco team broke off another deep run that took them deep into the Seattle red zone. A run by Gore appeared to put the Niners on the one-yard line, but an illegal block in the back by Braylon Edwards moved San Francisco back, forcing them to settle for a short David Akers field goal to take the 13-10 lead.

Tensions appear to be running high for both teams as there was some jawing and scuffling between the squads following the subsequent kickoff. The situation broke up before it really got going, but may end up in a penalty before this one is through.

The vaunted San Francisco defense has really begun to buckle down, as the Seahawks have gone three-and-out on their only two possessions so far in the second half. Marshawn Lynch was held to just eight yards in the third quarter, although he has 91 yards in the game so far.
