Seahawks Injury Update: John Moffitt Out For Season, MCL And PCL Damage

The Seattle Seahawks have lost starting rookie guard John Moffitt for the season to MCL and PCL injuries. Lemuel Jeanpierre and Paul McQuistan will fill in for Seattle the rest of the year.

One of the bright spots for the Seattle Seahawks this season has been the encouraging play of rookie John Moffitt, who has performed a yeoman's job at right guard this season in his first year in the league. Moffitt was drafted in the third round from the Wisconsin Badgers and had to come in immediately and fill in on the starting offensive front.

But his season has come to an abrupt end. Moffitt looked to have rolled his leg into a pile in yesterday's contest against the Baltimore Ravens, and had trouble putting weight on it when he walked off with trainers toward the sideline. On Monday, head coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Moffitt's season is done due to injuries to the MCL and the PCL. It's unclear exactly what type of injuries Moffitt sustained to the MCL and PCL, but it appears they were significant enough to take him out for this year.

Moffitt will be replaced by Lemuel Jeanpierre and Paul McQuistan. Jeanpierre replaced Moffitt during yesterday's game against the Ravens and has played both center and guard. McQuistan is a verstaile offensive lineman who can play in several spots and will likely spell Jeanpierre.
