2011 Pro Bowl: Game Time, Halftime Show And Other Vital Information

The Pro Bowl is set to get started in just about an hour, kicking off live from Hawaii at 4 p.m. The game pits the NFC against the AFC for little more than bragging rights, though the winners each receive a bonus check worth about $20,000 more than the losers — not a bad deal for a day’s worth of work.

Here’s all the information you need ahead of today’s game.

Teams: AFC vs. NFC.

How They Got Here: There are many ways a player can be selected for the Pro Bowl, beginning with the fan vote. Rosters are comprised by the choices of the fans, NFL coaches and a vote among players. After the initial rosters are released, alternates are cycled into the Pro Bowl in the event of injuries or other reasons that keep the players initially selected out. With the Pro Bowl taking place a week before the Super Bowl, alternates were also given the nod to replace players participating in the Super Bowl this year.

Rosters: The starters cane be found here. Full rosters can be found here.

Time: The Pro Bowl kicks off at 4 p.m. PST, or 2 p.m. local time in Hawaii.

Broadcast: Fox has the broadcasting duties. They’ll be pulling double-duty for the NFL, broadcasting next Sunday’s Super Bowl from Dallas.

Announcers: Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick, Terry Bradshaw and Tony Siragusa have the call for Fox. Try to contain your excitement about the thought of Siragusa roaming the sidelines.

Halftime Show: The Goo Goo Dolls, former American Idol participant Kris Allen have the pregame honors. Hawaiian singer Anuhea will hit the stage during halftime of the Pro Bowl.

Tune-in to Fox at 4 p.m. to catch all the action as the AFC and NFC settle their grudge match once and for-all, or at least until next week’s Super Bowl. For the latest from Hawaii, check out our Pro Bowl StoryStream.
